Automatic Water Pump Controller

The Water Gauge controller sits at the motor starter and lets the Android app turn the pump on or off. The tank reading comes from the solar level manager.

Tell us about the starter

The useful detail is the motor starter you already have. This opens WhatsApp, or call +91 70004 65454.

An automatic water pump controller is the part that operates the motor. On Water Gauge that part is the controller. It is not the sensor, and it is not the solar box on the roof. The controller page says to place it near the motor starter, in a spot you can reach, and to keep it protected from water and dust. Power is an AC adapter, not the solar panel. The solar panel belongs to the level manager at the tank.

How the controller joins the starter

The install notes split the wiring into two cases. For a relay-based system, you connect the controller to the submersible motor's starter with the relay connections provided, and you check that the relay output wiring is secure. For other motor starter systems, you follow the starter manufacturer's instructions and you verify compatibility. That second sentence matters. An automatic water pump controller cannot be honest if it claims every starter in a market will behave the same way. Water Gauge's own page does not make that claim.

After the wiring, the steps say to install the Android app, pair it with the controller, and confirm the connection status. Power comes from the AC source. You then turn the motor on and off from the app by hand. You check that the starter follows those commands. The last step on the page is a test under both manual and automatic control from the app. Automatic, on this site, means the app can run the motor without someone standing at the switch. It is demonstrated together with the level, which is why the full wireless water automation setup includes the tank side.

Schedules and level, kept separate

The home page lists scheduling: create and manage schedules, and set thresholds for automatic on and off. The app page says you can turn the pump on or off depending on the water level, from anywhere the app works. Those are the published functions. The site does not publish how many schedules you can store, or a list of starter brands. If a schedule is the reason you are buying, ask to see that screen on a demo rather than assuming a particular timer layout.

Dry running is the failure people want a pump controller to prevent. The way Water Gauge describes it is: the sensor reports the level, the app shows it, and the controller can switch the motor. The site does not publish a dry-run sensor inside the motor itself. Protection, as described, depends on the tank level and on the command sent to the starter. For a borewell, read how a borewell motor is automated and farms and borewells.

What to look at before anyone opens the panel

Photograph the starter, or write down whether it is a relay starter. Note whether the motor is submersible. The controller page uses that word. Note whether the tank already has, or still needs, the sensor and level manager. A pump controller without a level is only a remote switch. A level without a controller is only a reading. Most people who search for an automatic water pump controller want both, so the enquiry should say so.

Also note mobile signal at the tank, because the level manager uses the SIM that is already fitted. The controller's own pairing steps talk about the app and the control unit. They do not say the controller is solar. Do not plan the pump-room power around the roof panel.

Price and the next page

No rupee price is listed. The controller is an extra device on top of the level manager and sensor, so a quote that ignores the starter will be incomplete. The address published for Water Gauge is in Indore, Scheme No 140, above PNB, near Pipliyahana Road, Madhya Pradesh 452016. support@watergauge.in is the email. Hours are not published. A commented block in the old footer is theme placeholder text, not a confirmed timetable.

A worked example without invented numbers

Picture a house with one overhead tank and a submersible motor in the yard. The enquiry says both. The visit has two stops. At the yard, the controller is mounted dry near the starter and powered from the AC adapter. If the starter is the relay type the page describes, the relay connection is made and checked. If it is not, the electrician follows that starter's instructions. At the roof, the sensor goes in the tank and the level manager's panel goes in the sun, and someone confirms the phone has signal. The app test is then: level moves, notification arrives, motor starts and stops from the phone, automatic control included. Nothing in that story requires a horsepower figure, because the site never gives one. If your motor is larger or the starter is inside a factory panel, add that sentence to the same story and expect the compatibility check to take longer. Call +91 70004 65454 with the starter detail rather than with only the word "automatic".
